I have always been interested in human potential: what helps people learn, grow and discover more of who they are.

This interest led me to pursue two PhDs, both exploring related questions from different perspectives. My doctorate in Education at the University of Sydney focused on innovative approaches to teaching and learning. My second doctorate, in Spiritual Anthropology at Aix-Marseille University, took me more deeply into the Sufi understanding of the human being, particularly through the work of Ibn Arabi.

For me, these have never been separate interests. They are different ways of exploring what it means to be human and how we develop throughout our lives.

These questions continue to inform my research, teaching and writing.
